Residents Library Guide

A guide to help UNMC, Nebraska Medicine, and Children's Nebraska residents and fellows access and use the McGoogan Library for their research and study needs.

This guide is for residents, fellows, interns, and post-docs at the University of Nebraska Medical Center and our affiliated partners: Nebraska Medicine and Children's Hospital & Medical Center. Depending on your affiliation, residents, fellows, interns, and post-docs can access library services. Look for your affiliation tab to learn more about accessing your resources.


 

Using the Library Space

The McGoogan Health Sciences library is located on the 6th, 7th, and 8th levels of Wittson Hall. The library space is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for UNMC students, faculty and staff, and affiliates. A UNMC or Nebraska Medicine badge is required to access the library.

While the study rooms are reserved for students, there are other options for available open and quiet study spaces.

The 6th level provides open study spaces and flexible and fixed spaces for quiet study.

  • Available on this floor: two conference rooms, Writing Center, Safe Space and Brave Space in the Inclusion Corner, and one library classroom (6032)

The 7th level is the designated quiet level and provides open study spaces and flexible and fixed spaces for quiet study

  • Available on this floor: Brody workstation, individual booths with privacy screens, Linder Reading Room, and Sievers Technology Commons.

A variety of seating options are available on levels 6 and 7.
