Importing References - Mac Computers

Manual Importing from PubMed (Mac Users)

  1. Run a search in PubMed
  2. You can check the boxes next to articles for the citation you want to send to EndNote, and import all references or all references on a single page.
  3. To export your results,
    1. Click the Save button above your results or from the Clipboard. 
    2. Under Save citations to file, choose which selection you want to import (All Results on this page, All results, or Selected). 
    3. Select the PubMed format.
    4. Click the Create File button. A dialog box will pop up.

2) Select 'Save File' and click OK

3) In EndNote, select File > Import. In the Import box, select your PubMed file.

  • At the bottom of the box is the Options button. Click 'Options' for the different import file types. If you don't see PubMed (NLM) listed, select PubMed (NLM) in the Other Filters list

Manual Import Using RIS files

To import files from other databases, use the Reference Manager (RIS) Import Option
