Steps to Evidence Based Dentistry and resources

5 Steps to EBD

  1. Ask the Question; develop a clear question based on the problem using a framework (e.g., PICO/PICOTT)
  2. Acquire the Evidence; conduct a search for the latest relevant research & find the best evidence to answer your question
  3. Appraise the Evidence; critically assess the evidence for its validity, impact, and applicability
  4. Apply the Evidence; use the best, valid and relevant evidence in patient care
  5. Assess the Results; evaluate how well the previous steps worked
