Review results critically
CINAHL and MEDLINE index thousands of publications. Not all of these publications are journals or the kinds of publications you need for this assignment. Primarily, we are talking about newsletters. There are only a handful, which are generally consumer health oriented, in MEDLINE, but CINAHL indexes many newsletters. While these publications can be useful, they generally don't contain evidence-based articles.
It is important to look critically at the citation. When looking at CINAHL results, notice how the article is described. All periodicals are noted as journal article, even if they are newsletters, magazines, etc. If it calls the article a brief item, there is a good chance that it is a news item or blurb. Other article types to watch for are letters and editorials. Again, these may be useful, but perhaps not for this class. Note result list below. Items 21 and 23 are research, while 22 is a brief item.
