Importing Citations to RefWorks Without Direct Export Feature

When a direct export to RefWorks feature is not available or is malfunctioning, you can import records into RefWorks using Refworks "Import" page. To do so:

1.  Save database records in a tagged, plain text format. In EBSCO databases, select "Generic bibliographic management software" in the Export area of your saved folder.  In EBSCO databases, the references appear in a new window and you save them using the "file" menu in the browser.  Make sure to save them as a text file (.txt).  I will default to saving them as HTML (.html) so make sure you change it.  Refworks has to be able to see the tags in a text file.
2.  Open Refworks
3.  Use the Refworks "References" menu to select "Import."
4.  Select the correct "Import Filter/Data Source".
5.  Select the correct "Database".
6.  Click on the "Browse" button and selecting the tagged, plain text format file saved earlier (step #1)
7.  Click on the "Import" button.
